Game 33: June 12, 1888

@ Minneapolis
Minneapolis 11, St. Louis 8
Record: 14-19

Nyce started for the Whites, and once again he gave up a bunch of runs (11) and once again only a few of them were earned (3), as the Whites made seven errors.

On the other hand, Nyce also allowed 18 hits, including four doubles. Staley played in center field; Nyce played there in the previous game, probably due to Dolan's split finger from the first game of the series. The Whites gave up six runs in the first on three singles, a double and three errors. They came back to score two runs in each of the first three innings to tie the game, and then took the lead with one run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Minneapolis scored two in the fifth, and Crooks tied the score at 8 with a home run in the sixth. But whereas Minneapolis was able to shut down the Whites after that, Nyce gave up seven more hits and three more runs in the final three innings. Minneapolis completed the sweep handing the Whites their third straight loss.
