Every decade, the Greater St. Louis Area Council holds a Council-wide camping event in the spring in place of the typical district camporee. In 1981, this event was at Jefferson Barracks. In 1990 and 2000, this event was at Forest Park. In 2010, the St. Louis Area Council celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America with ScoutQuest 2010, one of the nation's largest anniversary celebrations in 2010. More than 20,000 scouts, scouters and visitors spent the weekend camping, climbing, exploring, canoeing, and participating in a wide range of activities. For a full view of the weekend, you can look at the official website for the event.
Troop 98 had 23 scouts attend the event and camp in Forest Park on Friday and Saturday night, including one scout who lived right across the street from where we camped! Picture entire fields in Forest Park filled with tents, and scouts everywhere. Saturday evening ended with a show on Art Hill and fireworks. The photos below, taken mostly by the scouts themselves, are just a sampling of the weekend.
