In game 2 of the series, Omaha extracted its revenge with a 9-3 victory. Nyce allowed nine runs on nine hits, while the Whites managed eight hits off Omaha pitcher Lovett. Burns tripled twice for Omaha and O'Connell hit a home run. The real story of the game, however, were the 15 errors made by the Whites. "The fielding of St. Louis was very defective" (The Republican). Nyce had two hits and scored a run. Nicholson scored the other two runs, including one in the eighth inning on a single, two stolen bases (per the Post-Dispatch - he is only credited with one stolen base in the box score in the St. Paul Globe), and a hit by Crooks.
