The Whites beat Omaha 7-1 behind the pitching of Staley and the hitting of Crooks, Burch and Herr. Herr came a double short of the cycle, while Crooks missed just the home run for the cycle. Staley struck out seven and was able to work around five hits and six walks, allowing only one unearned run. The Whites scored three runs in the first with two outs; hits by Crooks and Burch were followed by a home run by Herr. In the third, Crooks and Herr both tripled, and Kenyon drove in the second run of the inning with a single. In the fifth, Beckley tripled, Burch singled, and Herr's hit brought in the final run for the Whites. All told, the Whites had 10 hits for 20 total bases in the game.
