Game 18: May 25, 1888

St. Louis 5, Omaha 2
Record: 9-9

The Whites started by scoring four runs in the first. Nicholson singled, stole second, and scored on a hit by Crooks. Crooks stole second and scored on a double by Burch. Burch scored on a single by Herr, and Herr scored on a single by Cantz. The five hits were half of the hits made by the Whites, but the four runs were more than enough. Staley had his second solid start, allowing only two hits and two walks while striking out six; one of the hits was described as a scratch hit that Herr could have gotten. Omaha scored two runs in the fifth with the help on an error by Herr. The Whites scored their last run ninth on a double by Cantz and a single by Dolan. The win brought the Whites back to .500 on the season.
